OK, I'm always a bit apprehensive when I open mail from the Virginia-based People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They've been particularly vehement with their “Kick The Bucket” campaign against KFC. Click here for their website and here for my perspective in Loaded Gun.In the past, they sent me a bloody Col. Sanders bobblehead holding a knife and slaughtering a chicken. This morning, they sent me one of those cute, wind-up chicks that hops around—however it’s covered in blood and its beak is ripped off.
The tagline: “KICK THE BUCKET: Chicks everywhere are hopping mad at KFC for breaking their wings and legs, cutting their beaks off and scalding them to death.”
Too much?
