GQB takes over The Kells in Allston

The Guerrilla Gay Bar folks are taking over one of the more hetero hangouts in Allston.

Yes, they’re infiltrating The Kells, 161 Brighton Avenue starting at 9 p.m. Friday, July 11.

One of Boston's livelier Irish bars, the Kells is also one of Boston's best places to go for dancing without the sleaze factor or cover of the dance club scene.

The guerrilla gay bar idea is a great concept: a group of GLBTs sign up for an e-mail list, the organizer chooses a traditionally straight establishment (like last month's event at the Harp in the North End).
