After some serious online complaining slamming the original movie poster for the made-in-Boston, set-in-NYC film "Bride Wars," 20th Century Fox made a few tweaks and unleashed a revamped poster replete with a pair of cake knife-wielding bridezillas out for blood.
The new promo's design and tagline "even best friends can't share the same wedding day" seems to get to ... well ... the point compared to the bland original poster featuring a side-by-side shot of the dueling brides.
The Boston-shot film "Bride Wars" features Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson as best friends who are pitted against each other when their wedding dates clash. The BFF duo devolve into bridezillas once it’s clear that neither will step aside.
The Public Garden, South Station and The Estate (bachelorette party scene) as well as South Street in the Leather District served as locations for the set-in-NYC, made-in-Boston film.
Directed by Gary Winick, "Bride Wars" is slotted for release on Jan. 9, 2009.
