I've been bombarded with e-mails since last night's blogger panel discussion sponsored by Povo held at the posh Archstone complex in Chinatown.
"You were a great moderator, and I learned a lot from the discussion, especially about search engine optimization," comments Robert David Sullivan, managing editor of CommonWealth and frequent contributor to the Boston Globe.
While our discussion did go into specifics on topics ranging from micro-blogging, to monetizing online brands to SEO (search engine optimization), the true highlight of the evening for me was the debate between Adam Gaffin from UniversalHub.com and up-and-coming online contributor Ben Terris (the fella sitting in the chair to my right) who is working on the new Boston.com/Newton hyperlocal experiment.
I felt like it was this David vs. Goliath-type moment when Gaffin calmly expressed disdain over Boston.com's history of featuring content from local bloggers yet refusing to hyperlink to the original source.
Dan Kennedy over at Media Nation goes into details about the brewing media battle in Newton. While I've been vocal about some of Boston.com's practices, I'm definitely curious to see how this all pans out.
Meanwhile, the above photo (shot by a LiLa Molyva from Povo) features our motley crew of panelist (from left to right):
