Reese Witherspoon flick heads to Washington D.C.

You win some, you lose some.

Back in March, scouts for the new James L Brooks baseball comedy tentatively called "How Do You Know?" were on the prowl in South Boston looking for locations for the upcoming Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson comedy.

Witherspoon, reportedly preparing for the role by running drills here, will unfortunately not make the trek to Boston. Turns out filming has moved to D.C. In fact, Washington Nationals season ticket holders will reportedly get first crack as extras when filming begins this summer.

In the film, Brooks returns to the romantic genre with a comedy starring an unlikely trio of Witherspoon, Wilson and Paul Rudd. Rudd will play the part of a businessman vying for Witherspoon's affections, while Wilson is slated for the role of a professional baseball pitcher out to steal her heart.

Lauren Mauriello, who apparently has a nice brownstone on Broadway in South Boston, spilled to the Herald back in March that she was contacted by a location scout from Columbia Pictures to film at her home.

“They said they liked our place because we had a really nice front door."
