Turns out that a pigeon breeder from Plymouth and State Rep. Michael J Rodrigues is proposing a bill that if a bird is going to be in a movie made in the Bay State, that pigeon must be banded and licensed within Massachusetts.
Pigeon breeder Bill Desmaris from Fall River spilled to the Herald that many of the made-in-Massachusetts flicks he sees boasts pigeons--especially the recent flicks that transform Boston into NYC.
Desmaris convinced Rodrigues to propose a bill to the joint committee on environment, natural resources and agriculture.
"If you have something really nice, you don't want someone bringing in something really awful and destroying it," Desmaris tells the Herald. "We want to be proactive. We don't want to contribute to the wild pigeon population."
Guess birds of a feather shouldn't flock together. Click here for the complete proposal.
