Dane Cook's sister-in-law accused of stealing

Erika McCauley, the 37-year-old sister-in-law of Boston-bred comedian Dane Cook, has reportedly been charged with aiding her husband, Darryl McCauley, with stealing millions of dollars from the "national entertainer with local ties" over a year and a half period since July 2007.

McCauley, 43, who has been in charge of his half-brother's finances since the 1990s at Cook's company Great Dane Enterprises, allegedly forged a $3 million check at the Bank of America branch located at 100 Federal Street in the Financial District and transferred money from Cook's account to his account without permission.

The Attorney General's office launched an investigation two weeks before his arrest on Dec. 30.

Cook’s half brother and McCauley’s husband, Darryl McCauley, pleaded not guilty in March to eight counts of larceny and forgery.
