Amy Adams, co-starring alongside Dorchester native Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale in the made-in-Massachusetts flick "The Fighter," reportedly had a close call with an overzealous fan last Thursday night while on set at the Paul Tsongas Arena located at 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Lowell.
According to RadarOnline.com, Adams was approached by a guy in his late teens, early 20s climbing the steps outside of her trailer who claimed to be looking for his cousin.
The site continues, “Amy, who was fully dressed and was with a production worker, yelled out: ‘What the hell are you doing?’ and the guy quickly climbed down the stairs before running off.”
Watertown native Eliza Dushku described a similar incident via Twitter while filming the psychological thriller "Valediction."
Apparently, security has been tightened after the incident. Adams, wearing an '80s-inspired black dress, stepped in the ring as Charlene, a gritty bartender from Massachusetts who ends up dating Wahlberg's character, "Irish" Micky Ward. Adams joins veteran actress Melissa Leo playing Bale and Wahlberg's mother, Alice.
Filming continued on Friday with a "weigh in" featuring Wahlberg as Ward and a press conference with Bale as his brother.
