Ben Affleck revisits 'The Town' in South Boston

Ben Affleck's blue-collar heist flick "The Town" shot pick-up scenes at Thorton Flower Shop located at 111 Dorchester St. in South Boston on Friday, May 14.

Word is that Affleck, who was sporting a Boston Police Department uniform, handpicked local TV traffic and entertainment reporter, Doug Meehan, to play ... no surprise here ... a TV reporter in the re-shoots on Friday.

For the record, crews wrapped filming last fall at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut and previously shot at the East Broadway and Dorchester Street location near Suds City Coin Laundry on Thursday, Nov. 12.

Affleck, playing Boston's most wanted bank robber, is both directing and starring in the film following a love triangle involving a crook, a bankteller and a FBI agent. "The Town" also stars Jon Hamm who becomes smitten with a female bank employee, played by "Frost/Nixon" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" actress Rebecca Hall.

Blake Lively, known as Serena van der Woodsen from "Gossip Girl," is playing Affleck's troubled ex-girlfriend Krista. Jeremy Renner, who won over critics with his role in the Oscar winner "The Hurt Locker," stars as Lively's brother and Affleck's partner in crime.

I am dying to see a trailer of this movie... it is about time! This is Affleck's first full-fledged leading role in about 6 years (since he has been trying to keep a low profile) and I think it is going to be a big hit. It will probably end up being one of Affleck's best projects.
